These archive photographs are from a
collection belonging to original festival
organiser and community activist, Ken
Wignall and they document the inaugural
event which was held in 1991.
“The Out of The Blue Music Festival has
been associated with Everton Park since
the summer of 1991 when 6,000 people
turned up to hear local bands and dance
the summer evening away.” said Ken.
“Since being resurrected in 2009 the festival
has been hugely important to our community,
so it really is nice to look back and see how
it all began”
The Out of the Blue music festival held
at Everton Park is an annual event with
a strong local flavour. It is run by a team
of hard working volunteers from West
Everton Community Council and funded
by local partners and organisations
committed to improving the area.
