Our Day Out

There a few Merseysiders who haven’t
enjoyed the attractions of North Wales
over the years - it’s coastal towns and
resorts have long since been a popular
destination for holiday makers from the
Liverpool area.
This was particularly so during the 1960’s
and 70’s - before the package holiday
boom made foreign travel more affordable
and accessible.
For Anne Smith - one of regular students -
the annual trip to Wales was one of the
highlights of her childhood “Once you were
in the Mersey tunnel, you knew the holidays
had arrived!”
Fond memories of Llandudno, Rhyl,
Talacre, Colwyn Bay and Prestatyn are
captured here in a variety of snaps from
the days of long hot summers, caravans
and fairgrounds.
